Casover Publishing provides manuscript critiques and managed publishing services. Casover Publishing is a trading name of Draft2Book LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in England and Wales under partnership number OC455633. Draft2Book LLP is the data controller for the information described in this notice.

Information we collect

Enquiry information: your name, email address, working title, genre, intended readership, approximate word count, manuscript stage, publishing aims and anything else you choose to include.
Project and client information: correspondence, agreements, approvals, files, invoices and records needed to deliver an agreed service.
Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, security logs, cookie choices and information about how the website is used.
Marketing preferences: only where you have asked to receive updates or otherwise given permission.
Please do not send a complete manuscript, payment-card information or unnecessary sensitive personal information through the initial enquiry form.

How and why we use it

We use personal information to respond to enquiries, assess whether Casover is a suitable fit, prepare proposals, deliver agreed publishing work, maintain project and financial records, protect the website, improve our services and comply with legal obligations.
Our lawful bases may include taking steps at your request before entering a contract, performing a contract, complying with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests in running and protecting the business, and consent where consent is appropriate. You can withdraw consent at any time, although this will not affect earlier lawful use.

Who may receive information

We do not sell personal information. We may use trusted providers for website hosting and security, WordPress forms and customer management, email delivery, file storage, analytics, professional advice and the specialist publishing services agreed for a project. We share only what is reasonably necessary and require appropriate protection.
Some suppliers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism or rely on an applicable adequacy decision.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses essential cookies needed for security and operation. Analytics or advertising technologies are used only in accordance with the choices offered by the cookie controls. You can change your browser settings and any choices offered on the site.

How long we keep information

We keep information only for as long as it is reasonably needed. Unsuccessful or inactive enquiries are normally reviewed for deletion after 24 months. Client, contract and financial records may be retained for up to six years, or longer where the law or an active dispute requires it. Project files are handled according to the relevant service agreement and practical publishing requirements.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including access controls, secure connections, updates and reputable service providers. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to be informed, access your information, correct it, request deletion or restriction, object to certain uses, receive portable data and withdraw consent. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
