Professional independent publishing without giving away the book.
Casover coordinates editorial, identity, an owned platform, demand testing, publication and launch as one managed operation. The method is consistent, but its sequence and scale are adapted to the opportunity. You own every account, right, file, reader relationship and royalty stream.
Full manuscript critique, language and consistency findings, and a prioritised revision plan. Full editing and final proofreading are separately scoped where required.
02
Identity
Reader positioning, comparable-title evidence, title and description work, cover direction and a designer-ready book-package brief.
03
Platform
Audience validation, demand-test findings and a designer-ready landing-page brief. A full website, CRM or checkout is added only when the evidence supports it.
04
Publication
A Route Decision Record, edition and channel matrix, ISBN and imprint plan, controlled Metadata Master, production specification and proof and release controls.
05
Demand and launch
A week-by-week launch workbook covering pre-orders or waiting lists, supporters, advance readers, review activity, press, email, social content and measurement.
06
Beyond
A measured results and continuity pack: performance snapshot, agreed corrections, recorded decisions and a practical 90-day reader, review, promotion and next-book plan.
See the method in practice
Billy MacLeod MBE
A live author platform built around the book, the readers and the continuing series. It brings together his identity, A Sapper’s Story, direct pre-orders, signed editions, the Nominal Roll, press material, reader responses and the foundations of an ongoing series.
Billy began with an unusually strong Royal Engineers and veterans network. This is a real working example of the Casover method, not a promise that every author will follow the same route or achieve the same response. Each future project is shaped around the author’s own readership, reach and evidence.
Build the full owned platform and credible direct pre-order route early, while editorial and production planning continue.
Reachable niche
Build a focused foundation and test positioning, list growth and response before expanding the commitment.
Audience to prove
Strengthen or test the proposition before a full website, print run or substantial campaign expenditure.
PRICING
Every step priced separately, nothing bundled.
The critique comes first because everything after it depends on what the manuscript actually needs. After that you choose the steps you want, in the order that suits the book. Editing is priced by word count because it is the only part of the work that genuinely scales with length.

HOW YOU PAY
Paid as each stage is agreed.
There is no lump sum and no contract covering work you have not chosen. Each stage is agreed and paid before it starts, so the most you are ever committed to is the step in front of you.
One step at a time
The critique is paid in full at the outset. Nothing else is owed until you decide what happens next.
Stop whenever you like
If the critique is all you need, that is where it ends. No stage is conditional on buying another.
Instalments on request
If you want to commit to several stages together, the total can be spread over equal monthly payments. Ask and we will set it out in writing.
What remains yours
If we parted company tomorrow, you would keep everything.
Copyright, rights and publishing files
Domain, website, email and customer data
ISBNs, KDP, Ingram and printer relationships
Payment accounts, sales income and every royalty
Request a quote
Ask for an itemised quote.
Tick only the steps you are interested in. We will price each one separately and send it in writing, so you can see exactly what you are agreeing to before anything begins.
A quote is not an invoice. Each step is paid only once you have agreed it, and you can stop at any point and keep the work completed so far.
A sensible next step
Tell us where your book stands.
Start with the manuscript, the ambition, the readers and any audience access you already have. We will tell you plainly which route fits and what should happen next.
